What was the last conflict your country was involved in? Does it currently have any negative relations with other nations?
The last conflict of India was between Kashmir and Pakistan. The conflict was to do with territorial disputes, including war. During the war, it had prevented both countries to realize their potentials. They have fought three wars, which two of them located in Kashmir were disputed. Kashmir is a small region and it was surrounded with Himalayas. Generally, the war had affected the population of India and its economy, with having to relate this conflict to the entire world.
.India does not have negative relations with other countries, other than with Pakistan; both nations are still uncomfortable with their relationship, especially over the land of Kashmir.
Outline the political situation in your country (this can be given in a timeline). How stable is your nation? What type of government is in charge of your country? What is its rank on the corruption index? (Look this up on transparency international)?
India has been a stable nation for nearly sixty years. The British gave them independence in 1948 and the new constitution was formed in January 1950. It was decided in India that a parliamentary system should be formed due to the British before independency was formed. It was based on the British way of ruling in India so many different levels of the constitution were assembled. India ranks 72 out of 179 nations on the corruption index. This means India is not as corrupt as many other nations, but has to improve its record, especially when dealing with its high poverty rates.
Be critical: is your country a hindrance to global peace? Does your nation engage in ‘questionable’ activities? What is your nation’s reputation globally? Is it a pariah state or a global citizen? (You may use information derived form interviews to address this question and the state of the world atlas).
India has not been a hindrance to global peace, it is the largest democracy in the world, but India does suffer from serious problems with water scarcity and poverty. India has also a very good reputation globally. It does not commit serious problems in their country and they respect human rights. Lastly, it is not a pariah state because other countries in the world are doing business in India and the government isn’t ineffective.
What is your nation’s human rights record? Check out how they are doing according to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch and Transparency International.
According to the information about India, our human rights record is good. However, in relation within our nation, people are still evicted from their own villages. In this place, Kothooru village, this is one example when people are forced to flee from their homes. Their homes and other areas of land were destroyed. People are burned if they don’t evict from their original spots. For this human rights issue, the government of India is trying to help prevent the eviction to what people are doing. It would sometimes fail on providing the materials needed for the people. Despite the government’s failure, new policies have been developed to support the people.

Would you be proud to be a member of this country? Why or why not?
I would say that I won’t be a proud member of this country because it has a high poverty rate. India also suffers from other problems like the low education rate of the population, especially of girls.
On the other hand, India does have a good economy, and they are increasing the value of their country.
If you were a policy advisor to the leader of your country, what would you recommend to him/her to make your nation a better GLOBAL CITIZEN?
Poverty
- I would ask the government to help all the people who are below the poverty line, providing adequate materials and food for household purposes.
- They should guide the poor everyday, especially dealing with any problems and goals with themselves or others.
- Provide excellent programs to promote the interests with the poor, within moving poor people to valuable homes.
- Giving jobs to the poor to stimulate better knowledge for earning money, including the training of all poor people for 2-4 years before employment can happen.
Education
- increase the values of education, with having to consider the different methods of how children in the world have been educated
- bring all young children to school even if they have no money; this includes making the schools becoming a free education (no costs)
- build and support literacy programs to help improve children with writing
- provide writing materials to children and adults so they can get a chance to write freely
